Leadership Coaches are a unique and essential part of The Maroon & White Leadership Fellows. Coaches motivate and support students throughout their leadership journey, as well as provide information and guidance related to the program. The best part is that every participant will have a Leadership Coach!
More specific responsibilities of Coaches:
- Provide suggestions of events, programs, organizations that would align with students’ interests and meet program requirements
- Identify appropriate pre- and post-experience reflection questions
- Provide student with positive and constructive feedback
- Review and approve reflection submissions
- Challenge students to make connections between involvement and other life experiences
- Guide students in their leadership identity development and evaluate student leadership identity development on a regular basis
- Provide feedback to students on their Leadership Engagement Project
Requirements / Expectations
- Leadership Coaches must be a full-time staff or faculty member.
- Meet with your participant at least 2 times per semester
- Attend one in-person training at the beginning of each academic year. The training will outline the purpose, scope, and requirements of The Maroon & White Leadership Fellows, the framework of the Leadership Identity Development (LID) Model, and how to incorporate the LID model in conversations with students.
The Coach role is a unique aspect of The Maroon & White Leadership Fellows. These are the individuals who will help students find their leadership identity here at Texas A&M!
